As a UI Artist on Dune: Awakening from March - October 2025, I was responsible for two major and at least four smaller UI/UX designs for unreleased and upcoming features. Unfortunately, due to the nature of those features, they are unable to be showcased or discussed until they launch.
In addition to wireframes and mockups, I was also responsible for creating icons for new assets. While creating those new icons, I found ways to improve the capture and editing tools and workflows to capture more accurate, better representations of the in-game items. Using those updated tools and techniques, I spent any time between tasks recapturing and updating icons that have been in the project since well before I was brought on.
Why are these recaptures especially important for building pieces/placeables?
USER GOAL: As a player, I want to build and decorate my base in exchange for harvested resources.
USER NEED: Before spending my resources and time to place an item, I want to know how it will look in my base.
How did these updates improve the user experience?
By improving the lighting and contrast, better representing metallic materials, and correcting for missing/outdated details, the player's expectation is more closely met while decorating their base. The player is now better able to plan coordinating placeables before investing time and resources into building those items.

And a few additional examples of my icon capture improvements.

One of the first icon tasks assigned to me for Dune: Awakening was to update and polish all character creation icons, to reduce inconsistencies between icons of the same sets and to clean up some of the inaccurate captures.

Lastly, just a quick, full overview of the majority of the icon work that I took on in addition to the new UI feature wireframes and designs.
